How can I get involved?( All required fields are in bold.)

Please check all areas in which you would like to be contacted.

BRAC

Assisting with this initiative involves networking and job search coaching for trailing spouses of military, civilian and contractor personnel whose positions will be moving to the Dayton area. By 2011, several hundred positions will be relocated to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) from other air force bases around the country as a result of the 2005 BRAC Commission decisions. This reassignment includes military, civilian, and contractor positions. Many of the affected personnel are mission critical. WPAFB has partnered with the Dayton Development Commission (DDC) to attract incumbents to move to Dayton with the BRAC reassignments. Of importance in this initiative is finding jobs for trailing spouses of those individuals whose jobs are being relocated to Dayton.

Industry Network Group

Create, extend, and communicate additional activities and initiatives that HR professionals within the Greater Dayton area across industries can participate in.

Keep the association current and up to date on national and state SHRM affairs. Continue to align resources with the larger SHRM organization and report back on initiatives and improvements that the wider organization may benefit from.

Special Interest Projects

Work on multifaceted HR related community projects. Either through existing partnerships or through one that you have helped to develop that will benefit the chapter. Examples of work in this area may include projects such as working with the local area to co-ordinate a  career event or helping to administer a survey to the member population to garner data for a specific initiative.

Liaison with partnership/community groups

    Taskforce/Committee

Serve on a specific taskforce or committee that we have established in our local community or you may serve as the main point person to represent MVHRA in any of our existing or new partnerships. Work in this area can include getting involved with local or state events or helping to put together specific initiatives that will strengthen our presence in the local community.

    Media Coordinator

Provide information to chapter members about local community organizations through flyers or brochures at meetings or via newsletter articles if appropriate.

    Networking Organizer

Make chapter members aware of community organizations that would be beneficial to HR professionals or businesses. Invite representatives of local community organizations to chapter meetings.

    Public Relations

Maintain contact with business organizations, business news writers, and other community groups who may be identified as an integral resource to the group.

    Special Projects

Recommend and develop community service projects to be supported by the chapter.
