May 10th 2005 Luncheon

Lunch Speaker: Dr. Steven L. Johnson, President & CEO
Sinclair Community College

Presents: Understanding Your Power Profile

When many of us hear the word "power", a variety of images come to mind. Webster's definition of "power" is "the ability or capacity to act or perform effectively"; strength or force capable of being exerted; the ability or capability to exercise control; authority; a motion having influence or control over others."

Having power can make things happen. So how does one go about obtaining power -- where does it come from? How do you keep it? Dr. Johnson will walk us through the elements that comprise a "power profile" and the impact it has on how you are perceived. He will lead a lively discussion on the importance of how your profile impacts your ability to get things done. This session will be entertaining, enlightening, and will provide useful information to apply back in the workplace.
